Storefront Sketches
Final Store Design
SOHO Storefront Holiday Buildout
2021
To bring the holiday festivities to life at the Sephora retail location in SOHO New York, I worked as an intern along with art directors to partner with experiential design agency Park Creative Studio. Here we were tasked with holiday-izing one of the most high-traffic stores to increase foot-traffic and drive sales during the most competitive shopping environment of the year. My contributions while working on this team consisted of sketching, collaborating with design team members to concept the design, connecting with Park Creative Studio to ensure the feasibility of the design, and presenting the design to marketing partners.
Maintaining visually consistent elements with the rest of our holiday marketing materials was crucial to develop cohesive story telling, and an immersive experience for this installation. The theme for this year's holiday creative was inspired by kintsuji, a Japanese artform of adorning the cracks of repaired pottery to emphasize an object's history and resilience. Given that the winter of 2021 was the first post-covid holiday season, acknowledging a shared consciousness of togetherness and optimism despite challenging times was essential to authentically connect with our customer base. In this store-front installation we utilized the same organic edges, custom holiday cues, and artisanal patterns and textures used in our in-store and digital assets, but brought them to our customers in a larger-than-life scale. This activation achieved unmissable street appeal, and a gravitational pull on passersby that both promoted sales and improved brand awareness
